Televangelist Jesse Duplantis Asking Followers to Fund $54 Million Private Jet
Destrehan-based televangelist Jesse Duplantis needs your help. He wants to buy a little jet. And it'll only cost $54 million.
In a video posted last week on his ministry's website, Duplantis made the plea to his disciples "so we can go anywhere in the world in one stop."
"I really believe that if the Lord Jesus Christ was physically on the Earth today, he wouldn't be riding a donkey," Duplantis says in the video.
The 68-year-old Christian minister says that his ministry has paid cash for three private jets over the years.
"You know I've owned three different jets in my life and used them and just burning them up for the Lord," said Duplantis.
He's now seeking funds for a Dassault Falcon 7X, worth around $54 million.
The problem with those previous jets, according to Duplantis, is that they required multiple stops to refuel. If they got the Falcon 7X, it would allow him to save money and not pay "those exorbitant prices with jet fuel all over the world."
Duplantis' video comes on the heels of Texas-based televangelist Kenneth Copeland purchasing a Gulfstream V jet for $36 million.
Both televangelists made a recent joint appearance on Copeland's program claiming that commercial airlines are filled with "a bunch of demons" that get in the way of their busy schedules.
