Teresa Giudice Hugs Kids Upon ‘Housewives’ Homecoming, Everyone Cries Forever [Video]
Did Teresa Giudice deserve a federal prison sentence after being convicted of bank, mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud over a period of 10 years? Totally, but damn if the sight of her returning home afterward to hug her kids on the Real Housewives of New Jersey July 10 season premiere didn't make viewers cry their actual eyes out.
Footage of Teresa's homecoming from the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut — which happened back in December 2015 — was featured on the first episode of Season 7. It had elicited from Bravo fans the type of anticipation typically reserved for the Super Bowl by football buffs, and in the clip above, it's impossible not to cry at the sight of her hugging her four daughters after having spent close to a year behind bars.
Giudice was originally supposed to serve time through February 2016, but was released early.
Paparazzi swarm the Giudice property in the scene, forcing Teresa to enter her house through a garage door. Her kids, who have plastered welcome-home signs on the front door, run around the house with first-day-of-school jitters. After Teresa tearfully hugs her husband, Joe, the kids suddenly appear and soon envelop her like she's a tree to be climbed.
"Girls, I'm home!" Teresa shouts to responsive shrieks. "I love you, girls."
Joe began his own 41-month prison sentence on March 23, according to ABC News. He still faces potential deportation back to his native Italy.
