Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Faces DWI Charge
According to our news partner KATC, a Terrebonne Parish sheriff's deputy faces charges of driving while intoxicated and having an open alcohol container in her vehicle. She also faces a charge for not wearing a seat belt.
Deputy Tara Whitney was reportedly stopped this past Sunday evening near Louisiana Highway 24 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Houma.

LaGrange said the state trooper who stopped Whitney conducted a field sobriety test, and she also submitted to a breath test. LaGrange would not release her blood-alcohol content.
Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said Whitney is a lieutenant who works as a juvenile officer. He said she's been placed on administrative leave until an internal affairs investigation is complete.
