Lafayette Police, One Fatality after Early Morning Crash
LAFAYETTE (KPEL) Officers with the Lafayette Police Department continue to investigate this morning's fatal crash that happened near the 1800 block of East Pinhook.
Sgt. Robin Green says they have identified the person who died in the crash as Jmarius Charles of Lafayette.
They do not know how fast the man was driving, but they do know something happened to cause Charles to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle hit a cement curb, traveled through several yards, hit a tree and ended up upside down in a resident's yard.
Investigators will continue to work on finding out what they can about what set all of this in motion. We will keep you updated as information becomes available.
LAFAYETTE (KPEL) Lafayette Police officers have been at the scene of a fatal crash that happened at around 2:45 Thursday morning.
According to Sgt. Robin Green, Spokeswoman for the Lafayette Police Department, officials are trying to determine what led to this one-vehicle crash.
The crash happened in the 1800 block of East Pinhook right near the intersection of Clifford Street.
Details are very limited at this time as the investigation continues to unfold.
Police are asking for help from drivers this morning to avoid the area until they are able to clear the scene.
