This Amazing Texas Lagoon Features Over 24 Million Gallons of Crystal Blue Water
It's still a miserable kind of hot outside so I'm continuously looking for places to visit that help beat the heat. And if you want to enjoy the outdoors, there are not much better places to be than clear, cool waters.
There's a place in Texas that I stumbled upon some pictures of on Facebook that looks amazing. It's called Lagoonfest Texas. It looks pretty epic and I can't wait to go!
Lagoonfest Texas is located in Texas City, Texas, which is just north of Galveston. So, for many of us, that's no more than a three-hour drive.
This waterpark of sorts includes white sand beaches, water attractions, live music and more.
All total, the lagoon holds 24 million gallons of water, has 6,000 feet of shoreline and is powered by Crystal Lagoons technology. That filtration system only uses about two percent of the energy consumed by conventional swimming pool filtration systems.
The facility is open five days (closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays) from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Sundays' opening time is 11:00 am.
General admission tickets are available, but you can upgrade to add the following: chairs and umbrellas, cabanas, private seating areas, floating cabanas or pavilions.
There are also several water activities (for additional costs): aqua trike, bumper boats, boat cruise, paddleboard, kayak, sailboat, titan slide, life craft boats and more.
Should we get a party bus together??
