The Number of Women Playing Fantasy Football is Growing Big Time
Gentlemen, it's time to make room for the ladies. I'm talking fantasy football!
Football season is officially here and that means everyone has their fantasy football teams picked and is ready to win some money. However guys, you aren't the only ones who participate. The ladies are ready to get in on the winnings as well.
According to a recent survey, the number of women participating in fantasy football leagues is growing.
This year, 25% of fantasy football players is made up of women, which is up from 20% in 2012.
And the statistics continue...
- The 66% of women who play fantasy football are more likely to hold a full-time job as opposed to the 33% who don't play.
- Female players are more likely to make around $100,000 a year than those females who do not play. (There's pretty much no difference when it comes to the men.)
- 72% of women who play are between the ages of 30 and 49. (For men, it's 18 to 39.)
Here's the kicker though ladies...
- Despite the stats about women, men are more likely to actually be into fantasy football. 66% of men are in at least two leagues compared to 50% of women.
I will admit that I don't play fantasy football. There are still some aspects of it that I don't quite understand. For now I am good with simply yelling at my television when the refs don't call a face mask or pass interference.
My plan, however, is to catch myself up on fantasy football and try my hand next year. I talk enough football around the office, I think it's time I actually get into the league. Watch out fellas, I'm coming in hot!
