The Wurst Biergarten Set To Open Soon in Downtown Lafayette

There's something really neat coming to downtown Lafayette and it's called The Wurst Biergarten!

It looks like it'll be a really cool hangout for the entire family. According to their website, it'll be a "universal outdoor space where a yoga, fitness or art class can take place in the early morning hours. A place and space where visitors, tourists and locals can grab food and beverages during lunch or an afternoon stroll while finding a unique local art piece or handmade treasure."

The exact location of The Wurst Biergarten is 537 Jefferson St, on a strip of vacant land that has been dormant for quite some time.

Owners of the catered park, special event facility and year-round, open-air market with German, European, local and domestic beer, hope to have it open soon.

“It’s a nice friendly hangout. There are kids, there are families and at the same time, you’re enjoying a really good beer and a bratwurst,” said Carey "Cue" McCue, one of the biergarten's owners. “You know, community is what I’m saying. The way everybody in their heads thinks about what the community is going to be like: It’s going to be nice and pleasant.”
