A small plane crash in Jackson Parish on Thursday has left three people dead, according to authorities.

FAA communications manager Lynn Lunsford says the single-engine 4-seater Cessna plane crashed shortly after the pilot encountered icy conditions.

All three people on board died in the crash. The plane was destroyed by fire after the accident.

Jackson Parish Sheriff Andy Brown said the plane was heading from Jackson, Mississippi to Shreveport when it crashed north of Chatham on Louisiana 34.

The three victims have been identified as Chris Mudd and Wade Williams, both from Shreveport-Bossier, and pilot Robert Gilliam of Minden.
