Young Travelers Get A Discount On TSA PreCheck Memberships
(KMDL-FM) It certainly sounds as if the Transportation Security Administration is having a sale on airport security. Granted, we all appreciate a discount, but do we really want to have our "security" on sale? Relax, it's all on the up and up, and the special savings event from TSA will only last through the end of the month.

The world of flying has been turned upside down as of late. We've had entire airlines stop flying, and several others threaten to stop service as well. There have been issues with air traffic controllers, and documented delay after delay after delay. Still, people want to fly, and they'd like to get through security faster.
This is the Guaranteed Way to Speed Through Airport Security in the United States
Here is what TSA is offering for some travelers through the end of May. The deal literally ends on May 31, so you only have a couple of weeks to take advantage of the offer, it your eligible and if it appeals to you.
If you apply right now for a TSA PreCheck Membership, and you happen to be 30 years old or younger, you may apply for a $20 discount on the service. I can tell you as a frequent traveler, TSA PreCheck can be a Godsend when you're attempting to negotiate flights. I pay the full price for it; that and Global Entry are both well worth the money if you ask me.
The discount offer is made through TSA's authorized enrollment providers, CLEAR, IDEMIA, and Telos. Which means a traveler enrolling in PreCheck via CLEAR would pay $59.95, a Telos enrollment would cost $65, and the least expensive would be to set up your TSA PreCheck with IDEMIA for $56.75.

You will have to complete the online application and finish your in-person interview by May 31st for the discount to apply. Enrollment locations vary by provider. A quick check online found locations for enrollment in Lafayette and Youngsville, as well as other communities across South Louisiana.

What Are The Benefits of Having TSA PreCheck?
The benefits of being a TSA PreCheck Certified traveler included faster processing through security at most major airports. You may also keep your electronics and your 3-1-1 liquids in your bags. You may also keep on your belts and light jackets.
According to TSA, if you use PreCheck, your airport security wait averages out to be less than 10 minutes per trip. So, if you have plans to fly more than a few times over the next five years and you value your time and want to see your airport security stress level go down, you might want to consider this as an option.
I think even at full price, it's a great deal, and since you're going to be traveling, you might as well learn the truth about this too.
