U-Haul Truck Crashes Into Jeanerette Apartment Building, Only Minor Injuries Reported

Several residents at an apartment complex in Jeanerette were shaken up quite a bit when a U-Haul truck crashed into their homes on Monday.

The incident happened at the Collins Square apartments, located on Canal Street in Jeanerette.

The truck crashed into the wall of one of the apartments, and as you can see in the pictures, caused significant damage.

There were people in the apartment at the time of the crash, but thankfully only minor injuries were reported.

The Jeanerette Fire Department said that two families with a total of six people have been displaced. Red Cross was contacted to assist those families.

It is unclear yet what caused the accident to happen, or if the U-Haul driver will be facing any charges.
