U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy Presents His Alternative To Obamacare

Don’t count U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy among any Republicans who may not be prepared to repeal and replace the Affordable Health Care Act.

A common concern heard from Democrats and conservative critics is whether Republicans have a plan to replace Obamacare if they are able to repeal it. But, Senator Cassidy, who entered the Senate with a promise to repeal and replace Obamacare, got the chance today to present The World’s Greatest Healthcare Plan, his Obamacare replacement plan.

Keep in mind, this isn’t the first time he has worked to fulfill his campaign promise. In his first year, he introduced the Patient Freedom Act, which he describes as a market-based solution that gives patients the power by lowering costs, eliminating mandates, returning power over insurance to the states and giving patients the knowledge they need to make decisions regarding their health care.

In his proposal today, Cassidy’s plan for healthcare reform would make the Affordable Care Act optional and offer a tax credit for those who leave the exchanges to buy their own insurance. He also believes the penalties and mandates should be repealed lock, stock and barrel.
