Postal Service Warning – Make Key Change By Thursday Or Risk Losing Services
(KMDL-FM) The United States Postal Service has issued what amounts to a final warning for tens of thousands of Postal Service customers. If you have and maintain an account with the United States Postal Service, then certain actions must be taken before a Thursday deadline.
Post Office Requires Account Holders to Make This Important Change by Thursday
The changes have to do with online security for your account, and in order to maintain and improve online security, the Postal Service is requiring you to log into your account and make some significant changes.

If you have an online account with USPS that you use for certain services, you will need to edit and amend your account and profile before July 30th or risk delays in accessing those services. Many of you have business and personal accounts with the Post Office that allow you to schedule pickups, order complimentary postal supplies, or make returning unwanted mail much easier.
If you have had that password-protected account with USPS for a while, then you will most certainly need to log in to your account and readjust your password to the new security standards adopted by the Postal Service. In updating your profile and password information, you will no longer be allowed to have a password that matches your user name.
What Are the New USPS Password Requirements?

Your new password must be at least eight characters long and include at least one lower case and one upper case character and one number. Two characters in the password may not repeat consecutively. You will need to know your old password before you'll be allowed to change to your new password.

The deadline for completing these actions is Thursday, July 30, 2026. And just so you know, if you don't want to change your password, too bad. On your next login attempt, you will be prompted to move your security credentials to coincide with the new policy.

It might seem like a pain in the butt now, but with the added protection of a stronger login, you'll soon learn to feel better about typing the extra characters.
Oh, and don't choose or use any of these.
