Walmart Makes Major Policy Change – 1.6 Million Shoppers Affected
(KMDL-FM) A recent on-air survey by a Lafayette, Louisiana radio station asked the following: "If your happy place was a store, what store would it be?" Surprisingly, not a single respondent answered that query with an answer of Walmart.
Now, we are not here to besmirch the experience that is shopping at Walmart, but let's face it, none of us really look at our time amongst "The People of Walmart" as a happy time. Yet, still we go, we shop, we hope we save, and we wonder why they have all of those checkout lines and only use the self-checkout.

The premise on which Walmart was founded was quite simple: offer the best selection at the lowest prices. In many cases, Louisiana Walmart stores fulfill that business obligation just fine. The stores, at least the Walmart stores in Louisiana that I have visited, are always clean, well-lit, well-stocked, and you can usually find an associate for assistance with ease.

Does Walmart offer a 10% Storewide Discount Card?
Naturally, it's the promise of lower prices that brings most of us into shop at a Walmart store. We know those savings of a penny here and a penny there can add up to real dollars; that's why, when Walmart announced an expansion of their 10% Discount Savings Card, many people took notice.
Unfortunately, not all of us will be able to take advantage of that 10% discount. And to make that even worse, we're just hearing of a major Walmart policy change that will make that 10% discount card even more lucrative.
You see, in the past, the card was only good for purchases of fresh produce and general merchandise. And the time when the discounts were honored was limited too.
But now, the nation's largest retailer is offering that 10% discount on every item in the store, okay, almost every item in the store. The newly revamped Discount Card will offer savings of 10% on dairy, frozen foods, dry goods, meat, seafood, as well as fresh produce and general merchandise, and it's good all year long.
Who Can Get the 10% Walmart Discount Card?
If you want to get your Walmart 10% Discount Savings Card, all you have to do is get hired by Walmart. Yeah, the major policy change on the discount card is just for Walmart Associates.
Now, there are some 36,000 of those in Louisiana and more than 1.6 million nationwide. So, if that's you, enjoy your savings. Maybe you could pick up a few items for us, and we'll pay you back after you use your discount.
