Waste Collection Dates To Shift For New Year’s Day Holiday

Holiday waste pickup will continue into the new year with shifted collection dates for some Lafayette Parish residents.

Garbage and recycling collection schedule Dec. 31-Jan. 4:

• Monday and Tuesday customers: Regular service
• Wednesday-Friday customers: Will be serviced on the day following their regularly scheduled collection day

All Allied Waste customers will receive excess garbage collection on their first service day following New Year's Day. Monday and Tuesday customers receive excess collection on Jan. 6-7.

When placing excess waste curbside, residents may bag their excess garbage and place it on the ground three feet from the blue waste cart. Large boxes may also be placed on the ground for collection, but they should be empty except for the original packing material.

Live trees are collected in accordance with a customer's regular yard waste schedule, and customers without curbside pickup service — like apartment residents — may deliver completely cleaned trees free of charge to the Lafayette Consolidated Government Compost Facility at 400 Dugas Rd.
