Westminster Christian Academy Athletes Being Investigated For Reportedly Hanging Noose At Baseball Field
KLFY reports the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating a group of students at Westminster Christian Academy for reportedly hanging a noose on the school's baseball field after and argument between players on the baseball team.
KLFY says Sheriff Guidroz received the complaint this past Wednesday. After an argument between six players on the school’s baseball team Tuesday, the noose was spotted the next day.
Sheriff Guidroz tells KLFY -
An accusation came across that the white students had taken a rope and designed and fashioned a hangman’s noose and hung it at the baseball field where the other children, the black baseball players, could see it.
Public display of a hangman’s noose is a felony offense, and can result in up to one year in jail. The Sheriff's Dept. says they have enough evidence to make an arrest.
