The latest automotive reliability survey from Consumer Reports came out this week, and Toyota leads the way. Ford, which had been rising in the ranks recently, fell back this year: it now ranks second-to-last among all auto manufacturers.

"We listen closely and value feedback on our vehicles -- whether it's from customers or third parties, such as Consumer Reports," said representatives of Ford Motor Company. Adding that the latest results did not include Ford’s most popular, redesigned models: the Fusion sedan and Escape SUV.

However, while the people at Ford make excuses and hang their heads in shame, Toyota is doing a victory dance, as the Japanese automaker claimed four of the top slots on this year’s dependability list.

According to Consumer Reports, the Toyota Prius C is the most dependable car on the road today. Still, testers at Consumer Reports do not recommend it because they do not feel it is a very good automobile. Thumbs up, though, for General Motors, which has increased its overall level of dependability, especially in the luxury division.
