(KMDL-FM) Every weekend, even if you don't look really hard, you can find something fun, entertaining, and free to do in Acadiana. Especially during October, during our few weeks of fall weather, we try to make the most of being outside. So, why do we work so hard at coming up with reasons not to go?

Alright, I realize that it is not everyone who avoids social contact, but we all know that one guy- in my case, it's me- who enjoys the art of "not pictured". The difference between me and others is that I am honest; I will tell you I can't attend. I will thank you for the invitation. I won't hurt your feelings unless you ask me why I am not attending.

And no, I am not being mean; I am being honest about my reasons for not wanting to be a part of your cat's birthday party, the butchering of your eggplants, nor the blueing of grandma's hair for the holidays. But I do thank you for wanting me to be a part of your party, and maybe one day, if I am really low on snacks, I will attend.
