Woman Arrested For Trying To Get Contraband Into The St. Martin Parish Jail

This morning a Lake Charles woman was arrested for trying to conceal synthetic marijuana in a greeting card to be given to an inmate at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

Police say 27-year-old Demita Kneeland, along with a male juvenile, were there to visit an inmate when deputies gave closer inspection to the greeting card she was carrying.

The greeting card had a green leafy substance inside of it. Deputies say it had the look and smell of synthetic marijuana.
