If I had a lot of cash, this could be something I would do. (Yes, I fell off the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down.)

A 39-year-old contractor in China had to borrow $39,000 from his friends and family recently to pay his workers for a job. He was worried someone would break into his house and steal it.

So, he did what anyone would do in that situation. He asked his wife to stash the stack of cash somewhere. She decided the safest spot to hide the dough was inside their wood-burning stove.

All was good until the next morning when she forgot about the stash and decided to make some tea. She lit the stove and proceeded to burn all the money!

She took the bills that weren't completely incinerated to the bank, but couldn't exchange them because they were so burned up.

Now she and her husband have to find a way to pay not only their family and friends back, but all their workers.

She's obviously devastated. But the husband says they will figure something out and he's already forgiven her.
