We love our festivals here in Louisiana, especially if they involve food. One of our most famous sweet treats is getting it's own festival on October 8 in New Orleans, and all for a great cause - to benefit the Tres Doux Foundation, to help kids with developmental disabilities.

BeignetFest will be held at historic Lafayette Square in downtown New Orleans from 10am - 4pm on October 8, and will feature not only the delicious puffs of fried dough, but food vendors, fantastic local and regional music, and lots of family friendly activities. Admission is free, and prizes will be given out for best savory, best sweet, most original, and crowd favorite beignets. Looks like this will be one sweet day of fun!
