During the upcoming week Lafayette's population will swell to three times its normal size. Festival International week in Acadiana is a busy one and that means the weather forecast is very important.

Today and tomorrow the forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies. On Tuesday a chance of showers enters the picture with a good chance of rain by Tuesday evening and during the day on Wednesday.

The outlook for the heart of Festival International, Thursday through Sunday, appears to be better than average. There will be a mix of clouds and sun for festival run, however each day appears to hold a slight chance of a shower. Right now the rain chances are not that high and most festival veterans have waited through a shower or two with no problems.

Participants in the Courir de Festival 5k will want to know that Saturday morning temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60's. For most South Louisiana runners this is about a good as it gets for a morning run in April.
