Lafayette Weather – Severe Storms For Christmas Day

Merry Christmas! I hope you remember what your outside decorations look like because Mother Nature might be blowing them down your street. A Severe Thunderstorm watch has been posted through mid morning for much of Acadiana.

A large weather system is current moving from west to east and is picking up energy from the jet stream. This added energy has prompted the Storms Prediction Center to issue the severe weather watches. You can see what might be affecting your hometown by looking at the current radar scan.

In Acadiana we can expect gusty winds, heavy rains and occasional thunderstorms through the afternoon. Tonight skies will begin to clear and Wednesday should be sunny and cooler.
