**UPDATED- The National Severe Storms Forecast Center has issued a tornado watch for portions of Acadiana through at least 2pm this afternoon. There have also been several tornado warnings issued within the watch area. Please stay tuned to 97.3 The Dawg and KATC TV 3 for the very latest weather information and be prepared to move to a place of safety should conditions warrant.

It's bad enough that trick-or-treat nights have been interrupted across Acadiana but now comes word that we might be in for some bumpy weather later this afternoon and evening. The National Severe Storms Forecast Center does not have Acadiana under the gun for severe weather. They are calling for a good possibility of rain and thunderstorms some of which could be heavy.

Dave Baker's forecast for today is in total agreement with the National Weather Service. Rain will most likely move into Acadiana's western sections later this morning. The showers will progress from east to west during the course of the day and into tonight. You can see where the heaviest activity is on the current radar scan.

Most of the rain and thunderstorm activity will be ending from the west late tonight or early Friday morning. The forecast does call for cooler weather but plenty of sunshine for the weekend.

***UPDATE: Dave Baker has announced that all of Acadiana is under a Tornado Watch until 2pm***
