We asked for it and we are getting it. A warm does of Springtime. In South Louisiana Springtime means bright beautiful days and strong thunderstorms to make us appreciate them.

While a lot of us used this wonderful weekend of weather to catch up on yard work, or support U.L., tonight and tomorrow just might have us hiding under the covers from some loud claps of thunder and bright flashes of lightning.

A Pacific storm system is pushing through central Texas at midday on Sunday and is expected to begin influencing Acadiana's weather by as early as tonight. The potential for severe weather is low but there still could be strong thunderstorms especially Monday. Forecaster believe the shower and thunderstorm activity should be moving out of the Acadiana area by early Monday evening.

The good news is the system will move through the area quickly and the forecast for the work week appears to be quite calm and pleasant.
