The Louisiana High School Athletic Association has announced that Executive Director Kenny Henderson will be exiting his post on Friday after seven years with the organization.

A small group of LHSAA Executive Committee members met Thursday to finalize the move in which President Vic Bonnaffee (principal of Central Catholic) said that the two sides "mutually agreed it is in the best interest to sever the relationship".

Henderson's contract was scheduled to end in June of next year. He was however seeking an extension of that contract.

The last two years have been quite tumultuous for Henderson and the LHSAA including probably the biggest controversial move being the implementation of select/non-select divisions which has changed the landscape of high school sports in Louisiana.

According to the LHSAA, a committee has been formed to search for the next LHSAA Executive Director which which will be chaired by Todd Guice, Past-President of the LHSAA and principal of Ouachita Parish High School.

A former Ruston High principal, Henderson had been with the LHSAA since October of 2006. He succeeded long-time Executive Director Tommy Henry who served in that post for nearly a quarter century.
