UPDATE: DOTD To Shut Down Johnston Street For Crash Investigation
UPDATE: The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced it will shut sown Johnston Street near Lana Drive intermittently Thursday to allow crews to investigate the crash.
The closures are expected to take place from 9 a.m. until noon.
UPDATE: Lafayette Police Corporal Paul Mouton says Johnston Street has been re-opened. The driver of the motorcycle remains in critical condition. Police continue to investigate.
ORIGINAL: A major crash in the 4500 block of Johnston Street has closed the road to all traffic and has sent a motorcycle driver to the hospital in serious condition.
Corporal Paul Mouton with Lafayette Police says traffic is being diverted to Ridge and Camellia Boulevard. He says the motorcycle was traveling north when it collided with a truck leaving a private driveway onto Johnston Street.
No injuries were reported in the truck.
