Bruce and The Kennel Club wanted me to recreate Elvis Presley's favorite pound cake. Since I do not have much say so around here, I happily obliged. Thank goodness I enjoy cooking and baking. The pound cake was quite simple to bake and licking the batter off the spoon will surely be your favorite part.

Bruce found the delicious recipe off of StumbleUpon. Be sure to get the right size pan though, because mine was a little too deep so the top baked a little earlier before the middle of the cake, but it still tasted absolutely delicious.  I followed each step properly but I did a little something extra at the very end.

Once the pound cake is finished baking, I let it cool off for 10-15 minutes. I whisked 1/2 cup heavy cream and a couple of tablespoons powdered sugar together. This makes a nice, creamy icing. The cake can sit in room temperature overnight. Before you serve it, add some fresh fruit on the side!
