What an incredible year for Ragin Cajun athletics. The football team won the conference and the New Orleans Bowl. The basketball team won the conference and competed in the NCAA Tournament. The Cajun Softball team hosted a first ever Super Regional in the NCAA tournament and is now heading to Oklahoma City for the Women's College World Series.  Cajun baseball still has some unfinished business before they find out about NCAA tournament action.

The Cajuns will face off against Texas-Arlington this afternoon in the finals of the Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament  being held in  Mobile at the University of South Alabama. The pregame starts at 12:30 with first pitch at 1pm

Following that game the Cajun baseball team will return to Lafayette to await the announcement of regional host sites for the NCAA tournament. It is expected that the Cajuns are a shoe in to host a regional. More intriguing is the possibility that the Cajuns will be a National Seed in the tournament, thus giving them the opportunity to host a Super Regional with a victory in the regional tournament.

Cajun fans and Cajun players will get to experience the unveiling of the next step in NCAA tournament play at a special event hosted at Tigue Moore Field. This will happen Monday. The gates will open at 10:30am and the official announcement show will begin at 11am. Admission will be free and there will be free snow cones and popcorn for all Cajun Fans.
