Shaking Out the Good Stuff- Lafayette’s Blue Monday Party Jam

If there's one thing we know about in South Louisiana it's seasoning. It takes just the right pinch of Morton Salt to bring out the best in your favorite recipes just like it takes the right pinch of accordion, scrub board, guitar, bass, drums, or whatever instrument they're playing to bring out the best in Louisiana music.

Tonight, our Shaking Out the Good Stuff spotlight truly shines a spotlight on some of Acadiana's most gifted musicians and performers. Tonight it's another Blue Monday Party Jam Session at Lafayette's Brass Room. The Jam Session kicks off tonight at 7 pm and featured performers are Lee Allen Zeno and Friends.

Admission to the Blue Monday Party Jam is free and all musicians are welcome. The musical vibe will run from smooth and traditional jazz to zydeco and blues and almost everything in between. Your participation as a player or in the audience helps spread the good work of the Blue Monday Mission. 

The Blue Monday Mission uses performances such as tonight's party jam to raise funds to support aging creatives and those in the creative industries who find themselves in need. The support might come in the form of transportation services to medical appointments, food, and nutritional supplements, as well as financial and legal advice.

In short, the mission of Blue Monday is to support those who bring the arts alive in South Louisiana and to support those who have created our culture of music and performance. We have supported Blue Monday here at the radio station and if you love live and local music, we'd encourage you to do the same.
