Louisiana State Police is investigating an apparent fatal hit-and-run accident involving a bicyclist.

One person is dead following what state police are calling a "non-contact hit and run crash" on Hwy. 90 Saturday night.

Police said one of the horses hit the van square, smashing its head through a window and appeared to be seriously injured. One witness said the two riders were racing as if they were competing at Evangeline Downs.
