There were two fatal crashes that happened very early Friday morning. One of the deaths involved a driver who was not wearing a seat belt; the other death involved a pedestrian getting hit by a vehicle that apparently just kept on going.

State Police Troop A TFC Taylor J. Scrantz said Lt. Todd Alcorn of the Lafayette Police Department was involved in a two-car crash around 7:00 am Sunday at mile marker 132, about five miles east of Whiskey Bay.
