A sad story out of Thibodaux, Louisiana yesterday.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre says that detectives responded early yesterday to a double shooting, which was believed to be a murder-suicide at a residence.

Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of 26-year-old Nakesha Carrere and 5-year-old Abigail Creamer at the scene. Both had suffered gunshot wounds to the head.

Deputies say that Creamer's father discovered the scene after arriving at the residence and he called called 9-1-1 just before noon on Sunday.

Detectives would discover a detailed letter inside the residence believed to be penned by Carrere.

"This is a tragic incident, and we extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family," said Sheriff Craig Webre. "Investigators are still processing evidence, but we are confident in our determination of a murder-suicide."
