Woman Carjacked In Lafayette, Police Looking For Suspect

Around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Lafayette Police say a woman was carjacked in a parking lot in the 2800 block of Ambassador Caffery.

Spokesperson Cpl. Paul Mouton says the suspect approached her from behind, pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s keys to the vehicle. Cpl. Mouton says the suspect got away in the victim’s white 2006 Mazda Tribute, bearing Louisiana license plate number “PIL340.” Thankfully, the victim was not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’6″ tall, 30-40 years of age. He was wearing a red cap and blue shorts.
