5 Reasons Why It Feels So Good To Be A Saints Fan Today
After not watching Super Bowl LIE last night, I woke up this morning with a certain kind of pep in my step. A feeling of closure. It's almost like seeing your ex out at a club with the new person they're dating and noticing what a tragic, miserable situation they're both in. Sure, maybe a little petty to feel that way, but it sure feels good to be a Saints fan right now, and here's why...

The Boycott Bowl In New Orleans
The official Boycott Bowl that happened in New Orleans yesterday got as much attention around the Country as the actual Super Bowl. We all knew it would be a big deal, but I don't think any of us thought it would be as huge as it turned out. What an amazing display of solidarity, support, and love for our New Orleans Saints. Honestly, I think the Boycott Bowl is one of the greatest moments in Saints history, behind only the 1st game back in the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina and the Saints Super Bowl win. When it's us against the world, we will always win.

The Rams Were Horrible
The score in the Super Bowl had no touchdowns for over three quarters. It was the lowest scoring game in Super Bowl history. Now, this being said, I think you've got to give credit the both teams' Defensive play. I'm a fan of Defense, but it's boring to most people. To have the biggest game in the sports world drag on like it did is not what people want to see. I didn't watch it, so I wasn't bored at all, but looking at social media, folks were pretty underwhelmed. Even the official Twitter account for Mercedes Benz tweeted out "If this game weren't in my stadium, I would have driven away by now". So congrats NFL, you got what you wanted and it sucked, bad.

Worst Super Bowl Ratings In 10 Years
According to WWLtv.com, Super Bowl LIE turned in the worst ratings in 10 years. The ratings in New Orleans are even worse as you might expect. Neilson reports the game got a 26.1 rating. That's honestly higher than I would expect for New Orleans, but I'll take it.

A Feeling Of Validation
The Rams lost. They didn't even score a touchdown. The ratings were bad. Football fans all over the country, not just Saints fans, took issue with the NFL and Roger Goodell over the dumpster fire that was the no-call and the handling of it. The country took a look at the Boycott Bowl in New Orleans and have given us respect and accolades for how we stick up for our team. Someone on Twitter said, "It only took New Orleans two weeks to plan a better party than the NFL did in New Orleans". Maybe the biggest reason we feel validated is simply KARMA.

Our Backs Are Against The Wall, Just How We Like It
Thinking ahead to next season, even with it only being the day after the Super Bowl, there is a collective feeling of "Oh Y'all don't know what's about hit you". You can feel it as a fan, you can see it in the faces and actions of the Saints players. In Louisiana, adversity is part of our DNA. We're really good at it. Treating us like we're not good enough is the worst thing you can do. Saying we can't quickly becomes "we just did". Over the past two weeks, I honestly wasn't sure I wanted to invest any time in the NFL anymore. Now? I can't wait to be a part of one of the biggest revenge seasons anyone has ever witnessed.
