8 MidSouth Branches in Louisiana To Close After Hancock Whitney Acquisition
Hancock Whitney will be closing eight MidSouth branches in Louisiana, several months after inking a deal to acquire the Lafayette-based banking institution. (One branch in Texas will also be closing.)
Five of these branch closures are right here in Acadiana.
The following locations are closing:
- 102 Versailles - Lafayette
- 2218 Ambassador Caffery - Lafayette
- 2805 Moss Street - Lafayette
- 800 Veterans Drive - Carencro
- 2309 Old Jeanerette Road - New Iberia
There are currently five Hancock Whitney branches in Lafayette.
MidSouth closed 17 branches about two years ago in an effort to tighten its financials. They reported a net loss of $5.3 million during the first quarter this year, down from a profit of $612,000 in March 2018.
The Hancock Whitney acquisition of MidSouth will happen in an all-stock transaction worth $214 million. That deal is expected to close during the third quarter.
