85-Year-Old Man Graduates from Southeastern Louisiana University, Oldest in School History
It's never too late to go back to school kids. Because if Kenneth S. Colona can get his college degree, then so can you.
But what's so special about one man getting his degree? Oh, there's a good reason.
Mr. Colona walked across his university's graduation stage this past Saturday and picked up his diploma -- at the tender age of 85.
Mr. Colona earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from his hometown Southeastern Louisiana University.
In earning his degree, the Hammond native became the oldest person ever to graduate in the school's history.
This was not the first go-round for Mr. Colona. He originally attended Southeastern in the 1950s, but left shortly after to join the United States Marines.
In 2010, Mr. Colona returned to Southeastern at the age of 73. And after 13 years, his perseverance and persistence paid off with him earning that aforementioned bachelor's in sociology.
Well done sir and thanks for being an inspiration to so many!
