Abbeville Girls Receives 500 Cards On Her Birthday

Here's another reason Acadiana is an awesome place to live.

Laney Bourque is a young lady in Abbeville who heads to the mailbox every day hoping to find something with her name on it. Laney struggles with epilepsy, which brings new challenges everyday. Laney was hoping to receive at least one birthday card, but was disappointed to only find bills (aren't we all?)

According to KATC, Laney's mom made a simple request for birthday cards that blossomed into a beautiful gift for her daughter. Laney received over 500 cards for her milestone 18th birthday. This beautiful gesture is another recent reminder of how giving and compassionate the people of South Louisiana are.
