AFLAC Duck Fired

Well actually the voice of the AFLAC Duck got canned yesterday. That would be the indistinguishable pipes of comedian Gilbert Gottfried. I'm sure you'll make your way around the internet and see exactly what he tweeted. Just suffice it to say that the boy ought not to try to be funny at the expense of a country who's just been through the worst natural disaster in the history of mankind. TMZ reports the statement released by the company:

Gilbert’s recent comments about the crisis in Japan were lacking in humor and certainly do not represent the thoughts and feelings of anyone at Aflac ... Aflac will immediately set plans in motion to conduct a nationwide casting call to find a new voice of the iconic Aflac Duck.
