Alabama Sheriff’s Office in Financial Mess After Ordering Too Much Toilet Paper

This story brings new meaning to the phrase "Roll Tide".

There's a county in Alabama that is in a bit of a financial crisis after the sheriff's department mistakenly ordered 24,000 extra rolls of toilet paper.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office spent $22,000 on toilet paper and another $9,000 for 450 cases of trash bags.

That's quite a big problem since their total budget for janitorial supplies for next year is only $15,000.

The good news is that county commissioners have negotiated the $30k+ bill down by about half. But there still lies another problem: Where to store all this extra toilet paper?

The newly elected sheriff of the county, Phil Sims, says he will work with commissioners to address the problem.
