American Flag, And Other Flags, Banned At University Of California’s Irvine Government Building Lobby
The American Flag, and the flags of all other countries, have been banned from the lobby of the University of California at Irvine's government Building.
According to the Los Angeles Times, a 6-4 vote by the legislative council of the student government body passed the resolution to remove all flags, including the American Flag, with the aim of "cultural inclusion".
According to the story, the "ban" might not last for long, as the student government's executive cabinet is to meet tomorrow to veto the ban.
What are your thoughts on this? Are we becoming too sensitive to others' cultures? Have we, in efforts of remaining the world's "melting pot", lost our own identity?
