The US Flag Code calls for the proper disposal of American Flags. Having been in the military, several coworkers have approached me to ask if I have a place to take non-serviceable American Flags.

In the past, I have taken them to a local Boy Scout troop or to one of my friends at the American Legion. Now, there's a dropbox in Youngsville specifically for used American flags.

Facebook user Donnie Louviere shared pics of the flag dropbox in Youngsville at the VFW Hall, next to Morvant's on the Youngsville Highway.

Yes, it's nothing more than a repurposed mailbox, serving as a place to respectfully dispose of American flags. VFW Post 9210 in Youngsville will take any flags that are dropped into the box and destroy them in accordance with the regulations outlined in the US FLag Code.
