There's been a lot of chatter on social media about the lack of national media coverage for the Louisiana flood victims, especially in our area of Acadiana. Perhaps we can all help change that with the help of the American Red Cross.

Of course the Red Cross is always there in times of natural disasters and they are in the forefront here in Acadiana to help with our recovery efforts.

Personally, I think we'll "get it done" with or without the national media's spotlight, but it sure would be better if we got a little more help from the rest of the country.

I have an idea, let's try to get some of our stars in country music to help share the word, just like our boy Hunter Hayes.

Get on your social media and share the information above. Anyone can text LAFLOODS to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Pretty simple, huh?

Share it on every one of your social media pages and tag all your favorite country singers. Let's start there and see if we can raise some awareness, and some funds!
