Average Price of US Gas Jumps 10 Cents to $3 a Gallon
Most times when the price of consumer goods go up we naturally aren't too happy with it. But in the case of gasoline prices on the rise, here in Louisiana, most of us are just fine with it.
The average price of regular-grade gasoline in the United States is up 10 cents over the past two weeks up to $3.00.
Over the last three months, gas prices have spiked some 40 cents.
According to industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey, the increase is largely due to higher crude oil costs and the phasing in of summer-grade gasoline, which is used to prevent smog.
The highest average price of gas in the contiguous 48 states was $3.79 in the San Francisco Bay Area while the lowest was in Baton Rouge at $2.54.
