Baton Rouge native Archie Williams returned to perform again last night on NBC's "America's Got Talent" and he sure didn't disappoint.

On Tuesday night's live round, Williams performed Stevie Wonder's "Love's in Need of Love Today." He received standing ovations from judges Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Kelly Clarkson (who was filling in for an injured Simon Cowell).

Back in May, Williams' "AGT" audition of him singing the Elton John classic "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" went viral.

By now, you probably know Williams' story: The 59-year-old was falsely accused of the rape and stabbing of a woman at her Baton Rouge home back in 1983. He was convicted of the crimes and sentenced to life plus 80 years in prison, with no chance of parole, at Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

After spending 36 years in prison, Williams was exonerated and released in March 2019.

Back to the present. Williams will find out if he's moving on in the competition tonight (Wednesday). Voting took place after the show last night and the results will be revealed during tonight's episode.
