Beloved Carencro, Louisiana Restaurant Announces Closure
The owners of a consistently popular and beloved eatery in Carencro have announced that they have officially closed the doors to the restaurant.
Swanky's Downtown in the heart of Carencro has unfortunately been permanently closed.
The owners announced in a post on their Facebook page on Monday night.
The closure marks the end of an eight-year run for the once-hot spot in Carencro.
The restaurant opened to much fanfare back in May 2016.

Swanky's served a lot of "standard" Cajun fare including poboys, appetizers like crawfish nachos and crab claws, along with entrees that included several shrimp, crawfish, and fish dishes.
The restaurant was on the smallish side but had a lot of charm as it was in a renovated historic building on E Saint Peter St in the heart of downtown Carencro.
A really nice patio on the backside of the restaurant featured live music on the weekends.
As someone who lives in Carencro, I frequented Swanky's many times and loved the food and atmosphere every visit.
I am not in the minority. Many people, including Carencro Mayor Charlotte Clavier, commented on their fondness for Swanky's and wished the owners well in their future endeavors.
So did Carencro Chief of Police David Anderson.
We echo this sentiment as we wish the owners of Swanky's the best of luck in whatever life has in store for them next.
