Quite often, the stories you read about fast food giants such as McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and others involves those brands and the kinds of food they serve to overseas customers. In my travels, I have always made it a point to visit a McDonald's in other countries to see for myself.
How Is McDonald's Different in Other Countries?
And one of the things I have seen for myself in my McDonald's adventures in other lands is the variation on what we Americans would call the traditional McDonald's menu. The restaurant obviously has to make adjustments to serve and satisfy the tastes of local consumers, yet they still have to remain true to the brand.
And when you speak the word "McDonald's" you can't really say it without thinking of the Big Mac or the Quarter Pounder. Yes, McDonald's has made quite a name for itself by offering large burgers like those, but the current rumors and speculation suggest that something even larger is headed our way, and it's arriving next week.
Online fast food influencer and tastemaker Snackolater has reported via Instagram that The Big Arch arrives in America on March 3rd.
The Big Arch has been available in Canada for some time, and it appears as though the move into the lower 48 is imminent. Delish, another food/trend website seems to confirm the arrival of The Big Arch, but they were non-committal as far as a time frame was concerned.

The best way to describe The Big Arch is by using products you're familiar with. In this case, the Quarter Pounder. The Big Arch uses two "quarter-pounder" patties. It is dressed with three slices of white cheddar cheese, two types of onions, and a new sauce that is called "Big Arch sauce".
As we mentioned, the sandwich has been test-marketed in Canada. It has also been on the test menu in Portugal and in the U.K. From what we understand, the U.K. McDonald's have now made The Big Arch a permanent addition to their menu choices.
Speaking of choices, you do have those when you choose to dine out. We hope you're making choices that would make your doctor proud...if not, at least we hope they taste good.
