Bride Calls Off Wedding Last Minute, Family Holds Reception for 200 Homeless People Instead

What does one do when a bride calls off her wedding at the last minute and thousands of dollars have already been spent for a reception? Throw a party anyway and invite 200 homeless people to come grub!

That's exactly what happened in Atlanta to Carol and Willie Fowler after their daughter Tamara called off her wedding. Seemed like the groom was the one responsible, by the way.

Instead of not proceeding with the festivities, Willie suggested to his wife that the reception go on as planned. Friends and family were not invited though. The Fowlers teamed up with a local charity and invited 200 homeless people from the area. Most were families with kids.

The couple hopes this will inspire others to do something for the community if given the chance. And they also said their daughter Tamara was happy the day wasn't wasted, and handled things extremely well.
