On Tuesday evening, a video was being shared on social media of a Buckeye High School football player using derogatory language.

(Buckeye is located in central Louisiana just east of Alexandria.)

In the video, the student is using foul language including the "n-word".

From those that we've talked to that have seen the video, it was taken after a Buckeye High football game in the locker room. The student used the "n-word" twice and others were heard laughing in the background.

The video has since been taken down by the person that posted it.

Consequences have not been announced but Buckeye High head football coach Jonathan Landry told ABC 31 in Alexandria that consequences are to come for this incident.

A statement was released by the Rapides Parish School Board:

In no way does this incident reflect the attitudes and beliefs of Buckeye High School and we apologize for the offensive nature of the video. The incident is under investigation now and we cannot comment further at this time.

We will update this story when more information becomes available.
