The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns basketball team came into tonight's contest having won their previous two games and they knew that they wanted to continue their winning ways. The 6 game road trip is their longest in 18 years and the Cajuns were happy to be home. This was the team's first game at home since November 6th. The Cajuns were able to start fast and finish off Southern 88-78.

The Cajuns started fast in the first half, outscoring the Jaguars 40-29 in the first frame. Malik Marquetti led the way in scoring in the first half with 10 points and would finish the game with 20. The Cajuns were able to get up and down on the floor with ease and they enjoyed the fast-paced action as they were able to get some easy layups and dunks

Despite the Jaguars outscoring them in the 2nd half, the Cajuns were just too much for them. Jakeenan Gant would put on a showing at home as he put up 19 points and 10 blocks while adding 8 rebounds and 2 assists.

The Cajuns will continue their homestand later this week as they play host to Loyola-New Orleans. The Cajuns will also play Prairie View A&M and Louisiana Tech at home to finish off their first true homestand of the season.
