(KMDL-FM) How bad does your behavior have to be to get banned from going on vacation? Okay, this was pretty bad. What we're talking about is a massive brawl during debarkation of a Carnival cruise ship in Miami. Authorities with Carnival say 16 people alleged to have been involved in that incident will no longer be allowed to sail on any of the ships in their fleet.

To make matters worse, the physical incident happened in the debarkation area of the Port of Miami. Fortunately, in this instance, there were also many trained law enforcement personnel on hand to quell the violence before it got completely out of hand.

Why Are There So Many Fights on Carnival Cruises?

Violence on cruise ships and in ports that are served by cruise ships appears to be on the increase. Unfortunately, it seems as if the Carnival Brand bears the brunt of most of the negative publicity, but don't start pointing your fingers at the Fun Ships just yet.

You have to remember that Carnival and its parent company operate the largest fleet of ships in the world, so the appearance of violence on their ships could simply be a manifestation of mathematics. If you sail with more people, the higher the chances that an incident will occur.

So maybe it was just a case of post-vacation frustration. Regardless, it means that 16 folks will not have to worry about planning a cruise vacation for a long time.

According to media reports, once the dust settled, none of those involved in the fracas had pressed charges. Carnival praises the port security for their swift response in handling the matter. In a statement about the incidnet that is when, Carnival noted that those involved would be on the "Do Not Sail" list.
